Burney Falls Campout
**LAST CHANCE TO VISIT in 2024**
Waterfalls, Stargazing, & underground lava tubes!
This is THE Last weekend to VISIT BURNEY FALLS until after summer! They are closing the park, and we are going for one last hurrah!
Burney Falls State Park
The park's namesake is the 129-foot Burney Falls, which is not the highest or largest waterfall in the state, but possibly the most picturesque. Additional water comes from springs, joining to create a mist-filled basin. Burney Creek originates from the park's underground springs and flows to Lake Britton, getting larger along the way to the majestic falls.
Trip Highlights:
- Experience the lush forests of Northern California
- Visit one of the most photographed waterfalls in California
- Gorgeous natural scenery that you will never forget
- A beautiful alpine lake to swim in
- Delicious meals
- Hanging out by the campfire
- Exploring lava tubes
Let Urban Diversion show you why you'll "Fall" in Love with burney Falls!

ITINERARY
*subject to change*
DAY 1 | Friday,
Arrive at camp and settle in
- Check in with your host at the campsite and set up your personal tent
- Try to call off work today so you can get a head start on your drive. If you're leaving from the city, it will be about a 5 to 6 hour drive. Sunset today is 6:50pm, so you'll want to ideally arrive no later than 6:45pm so you can find camp while there is still daylight. Can't make it until later, no problem. Just let us know and make sure to get some dinner on your way to camp if you are coming in late.
- The end of the day means enjoying a delicious group meal together, a crackling fire & s'mores
- We'll pack our day packs in the evening to get a jump on the morning
DAY 2 | Saturday,
Rise and shine

- Find a spot to enjoy a trail-side lunch
- Chill out by the campfire while your awesome host prepares another delicious meal for you
- We'll cap off the night with some star gazing and campfire chats

Snowshoe Lassen, Lava Tubes, and back home
- As your host cooks breakfast and brews coffee, you'll be breaking down tents and packing up
- Lassen National Park! Located along the drive home. Yes, it is mostly covered in snow at this time of year. BUT, all the locals and OGs know this is still one of the best times to explore the park - as the park becomes a winter wonderland with almost no people, and there is tons of gorgeous snowshoeing to be had!
- Subway Cave underground Lava Tubes!
- This is super fun, natural marvel that lets you hike in the footsteps of underground lava flows.
