Join UD as we team up with our friends, OCSC across the bay for a sail Leave
your mid-week blues at the dock and come out for a rejuvenating,
twilight sail on San Francisco Bay. This Wednesday night, head out for
two hours of sailing, with a fully qualified instructor, to take
advantage of one of the best sailing locations in the world, at our
doorsteps! Hit the water with old and new friends to break up the
the stress of the work week and watch the sun set behind the Golden
Gate.
Each boat takes up to 6
passengers and will have an experienced and qualified helm as your
instructor. You can sit back and relax as the
sun sets behind the Golden Gate Bridge, and the city begins to light up
the night sky, or you can take the helm and skipper us around the
bay...No experience required to join in!
Once
you dock, shed your follies and join our "apres sail" mixer in OCSC's
clubroom. Enjoy some of Bowen's famous Chowder or Jose's
even-more-famous chili. Plus chips, beer, wine, soda and good friends
old and new.

and the chance to hang out on the Bay with good friends old and new...
This is a staff hosted event.
BYOB if you wish!!!!!
Attire: Dress warmly and in layers, it can look lovely, warm and sunny on the shore but out on the Bay if it is windy, it can be cold (all the times I have been out on the Bay it has been gorgeous though). You can always take off a jumper or put one on if you bring it! No heeled shoes, please wear non-marking tennis shoes or sailing shoes. Don't forget to bring a camera to capture the sun-set!
The Catalina 32 is one of the more popular weekenders in the US, and
for good reason: It has a large cockpit, mid-boom sheeting arrangement
and the wide Catalina beam that creates lots of cockpit and below decks
elbow room. It has a wing keel which keeps the draft short and provides
some weight low in the keel. The sail plan allows for the boat to sail
reasonably well. Due to its beam, it is best to sail the 32 as flat as
possible.
