|
Aloha from Hawaii! Join us for a unique adventure getaway 'Hawaiian Style.' Voted one of the top coastal treks in the World, the Na Pali Coast offers miles of beautiful pearly white beaches, crystal clear turquoise waters, refreshing waterfalls, and jungle treks. (You must be registered for the main Oahu trip to register for this)

|
Highlights: We will be joining a group of fellow Urban Diversionites on an adventure exploring the Na Pali Coast, after which we will join our friends in Oahu for five nights at the beachfront house. Each day we will be exploring a new part of the island and partaking in some fun jungle and water sport adventures, and enjoying the local culture. Our time in Kauai on the Na Pali will be filled with adventure, relaxation, great food, and amazing memories.
This is the chance of a lifetime to enjoy some of Hawaii's best adventures and you'll see why after all we're going to a place that's all about Location, Location, Location.

What to Expect:
|
|
Accommodations and Board:Three days two nights camping on the Beach - all inclusive. Dine every night on the beach and wake up every morning to your breakfast as you recline with your feet in the warm sand, complete with outdoor showers. Once we've explored Kauai and the Na Pali coast sufficiently we'll head back to Oahu for 5 nights at our beachfront house.
Itinerary: The following is our proposed schedule.
Day 1: (Monday) This is our travel day. You need to get an early flight out of either Oakland or San Franciso in order to catch a connector flight to Kauai. Once we're all together in Kauai we will hop on a shuttle to the trailhead. Our first night will be spent camping and relaxing in preparation for our hike tomorrow.
Day 2: (Tue) This is our exertion day. The Kalalau Trail on the north shore of Kauai (Hawaii) is a hiker's dream. Backpacking is required to complete the entire 11-mile (one way) hike, but we are just doing a day hike with only day-packs, not full back-packs. Our goal was the 4-mile trek to Hanakapiai Falls, a challenging 8-mile roundtrip hike in good conditions. The vistas on the first 2-mile leg along the legendary Na Pali Coast are phenomenal. We will drive to the trail-head and Drive back to our camp site in the evening.
Day 3: (Wed) Sleep in, you earned it. We will chill on our beach paradise until we are ready to hit the road, and head to the airport for our flight to our amazing Beach House in Oahu... and the fun continues.

Hanakapiai Falls - Cooling off Kauai-style in the bubbling waters of a natural jacuzzi below romantic Hanakapiai Falls is an invigorating experience. Of course, you'll have to work for the pleasure. Hanakapiai Falls is a four-mile, strenuous hike from the Kalalau Trailhead in Ke'e Beach to Hanakapiai Valley on the Na Pali Coast. Figure at least 90 m inutes of hardy hiking spiced with several great Na Pali vistas and then double that for the return trip.
Hanakapiai Beach will appear along the trail about two miles in. Here the trail turns inland to the falls. This portion requires some serious hiking and is not for the casual hiker. The trail meanders back and forth across a stream beginning about three-quarters of a mile in. Never attempt the trail in the rain as the stream is prone to flash floods.

Camping on the beach - This 12-acre park is Kauai's safest beach for swimming and windsurfing. It's also one of the island's most beautiful: It sits on a blue lagoon at the foot of emerald cliffs, looking more like Tahiti than almost any other strand in the islands. One of Kauai's largest beach camping sites, it is very, very popular, especially on summer weekends, when local residents flock to the beach to camp. It's easy to see why: This 3-mile-long, gold-sand beach is shielded from the open ocean by the longest, widest fringing reef in Hawaii. With shallow water 4 to 5 feet deep, it's also the very best snorkeling spot on Kauai, even for beginners. On the northwest side, a channel in the reef runs out to the deep blue water with a 60-foot drop that attracts divers.
