Hike: Secret Bakery to secret areas in GG park

You'd think that San Francisco was a concrete jungle from the Golden Gate to San Jose but guess what....it's not.  There are islands of green within this mass of pavement and high rise towers...you just don't know where to explore!

That's why Dal our amazing knowledgeable host is adventuring you into the unknown once every other week! Come and explore these little known areas with us in a fun, easy, and informative format.

What to Expect: We'll be meeting after work for a mid-week stress reducing walk with friends; both new and old. Don't worry about having the latest fitness clothes or high tech hiking boots. Just dress in layers and throw a pair of comfortable shoes in your trunk before you leave for work in the morning. We'll be back to the cars by dark but consider bringing a headlamp or a flashlight because.........."Safety never takes a day off".

The Hike: Arizmendi Bakery: This is one of those little 'Hole in the Wall' places that serves interesting treats in a great location. We'll be meeting anytime after 6pm at the bakery for treats and coffee before setting out on our wander at 7pm through some of the lesser know parts of Golden Gate park. Our destination is Stern Grove but we can turn around anytime we want and get back to our cars.

Our Route: We'll be walking through groves of eucalyptus and redwood trees. The aromas and views should be amazing. We really need to take the time to step back and enjoy these sights and smells. We'll pass the Greek Theatre, Pine Lake, and the dog park. Did you know about the 'Cell Phone Rabbit' structure? What about Hog Lake? Amazing views abound and we'll be with fun and interesting people. Come join us.................
