UD Updates:
Our new Marketing Manager, Anton Jurkiw arrived this week in sunny San Francisco after two weeks of trekking through Thailand. Look out for him as a new event host! Anton is always smiling and loves kayaking, hiking and travel. In fact, he was the first one to the top of Half Dome. He’s definitely ready for Urban Diversion.
Yosemite Half Dome: A group of 30 members showed their colors, braving heat and exhaustion to power up Half Dome, a 12 hour, 17 mile hike up to 8,000 feet of exquisite views this weekend. Those brave souls who made it to the peak at a 55 degree angle were rewarded with 360 degree views of the valley. Everyone had a rewarding time in beautiful Yosemite and we finished the weekend jumping off rock cliffs and natural water slides at Rainbow Pools. Don’t miss the next trip to Yosemite in September when we gobackpacking to Cathedral Lakes.
Wine Tasting Trip to Lodi: Christy headed up a wonderful trip to Lodi this weekend where a very lucky group tasted several wines exclusively from local grapes and learned about the process of wine making. At Vino Piazza, they experienced several unusual varieties such as Mourvedre, Petit Verdot, Wild Butterscotch and White Port. With two pick up locations and a professional driver, no one had to worry about sampling the fares. What a wonderful day!
South Bay Section
This is what the host of the Lodi wine tasting trip, Christy Henry thought about their day in wine country "It seemed like everyone found some wine they liked, because the back of the van was pretty packed by the time we got back. And everyone seemed to like Vino Piazza, where we stopped for lunch- it has 12 wineries in the same location."
