Rockstar
Happy Hour is Urban Diversion's signature after work social event.
Rockstar Happy Hour happens twice a month always at a
different bar/pub in San Francisco and always within
walking distance of public transportation. Rockstar Happy Hour is open
to all members, their friends and
coworkers, and always draws a great crowd, so spread the word!
This Week's Venue:Guess where it is? Watch this event to find out where!
The Scene: This North Beach hotspot is famous for an American favorite The Burger. With its sleek and sexy interior it is perfect for a dinner with friends, after work happy hour, or club night out. A DJ station and dance floor dominate one side of the club, a sleek
restaurant space fills the other, and a neon-lit full bar splits the
two.
The Draw: Attitude-free staff accommodate with crowd-pleasing cocktails, share plates, and a popular build-your-own-gourmet-burger menu. With a great weekday happy hour of $2-5 Food Specials
and $3-5 Drink Specials
Please
take note that our Rockstar Happy Hours draw in large crowds. It is
sometimes difficult for our host to distinguish UD members from the
general public. Because of this it is recommended that if you are a
new member, look for the UD signs and introduce yourself to someone in the group.
Please add yourself to the Watch List to find out this weeks venue!
We encourage members to invite their friends and coworkers!

Take a detour from the typical July 4th festivities and instead, enjoy some of the most amazing views that California has to offer from Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks.
What to Expect: We are heading to the mountains yet again! This time, we are taking advantage of a long holiday weekend to visit Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. This will be the best chance to see some of the most breathtaking scenery that you've ever laid your eyes on. With over 90% of these parks being undeveloped wilderness, you can leave the hustle and bustle of the busy holiday weekend behind and enjoy the pristine serenity of these amazing parks.
Adventure Chart
Type: Backpacking Difficulty: Moderate to Strenuous
2 days backpacking in the backcountry
Elevations between 6,000 and 10,000 feet
11-14 miles per day
Details: You
must be in very good physical condition and have previous camping and
backpacking experience. There will be a mandatory pre-trip meeting for those registered.
The Parks: Kings Canyon and
Sequoia Parks are located in the Sierra mountain range between Yosemite
and Death Valley National Parks. The park boasts a handful of singular
and unique landscapes.... It harbors the last remaining natural Giant
Sequoia Grove in the world! It contains the deepest canyon in the
country measuring in at 8,200 feet. The mountain range itself was
carved out of glaciers making the steep, sharp peaks some of the most
amazing to behold!
The
weather for this time of year will be warm to mild during the day (70's to 80's) and only slightly chilly at night (40's to 50's).
Schedule:
Friday
Plan on leaving mid to late morning on Friday. We recommend leaving as early as possible because traffic will be BAD! It is the 4th of July! The drive will probably take 5-6 hours. Once in the park and at camp, we will relax and prepare for the weekend. There will be the option to take some small day hikes or a driving tour of local areas of the park.
Saturday
We will rise and hit the trail early to avoid the holiday crowds in the main camp areas and to also to get some miles under our shoes before the sun heats things up. Our trail... The High Sierra Trail! This trail tracks high along a steep mountain ridgeline offering amazing views of the valleys below and other mountain peaks beyond. If you suffer from vertigo or have a fear of heights, this trail may be difficult for you! After a hearty 12 mile hike, we will make our camp at Bearpaw Meadow. There will be an optional excursion to make a day hike to Hamilton Lake approximately 3.5 miles farther down the trail.
Sunday
After a restful night, we will break camp and head back to our vehicles. The adventure will not stop there, however. We will spend one more night in the park...
Monday
On Monday, we will take some morning day hikes to explore other interesting areas of the park before making the scenic drive back to the Bay Area.
Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions! Use the comments box when you register for this event.

This is an all-trail run with the ultimate in hashing, beer, scenic beauty, beer, food, beer, and good times. Based on a British game - so it's got to be good! Anything British is great!
This is a great evening run for both novice and experienced runners. The run starts with a person designated as the 'Hare' who leaves first and sets a trail. Then the rest of the group tries to find his trail and capture him. The way to find the trail is by looking for flour that shows which way the hare went. However, he can fool you!
To be on the right trail you need to find 3 blotches of flour on the same path, if you find only two and then a big X, he tricked you and you need to back track! That is what is so great, the fastest runners usually go down the wrong trails and end up running a lot further than the rest of us, and we all end up running as a group!
After the Run - the hashers usually meet for some drinks and food, where you tell stories of the road, make jokes, and eventually earn your hasher name!
We like to
introduce our members to members from other groups. So join us as we
take a run on the wild side with the Hash House Harriers.
If you have never been to a Hash House Harriers run, you're missing out!
